What is Stalking?
Stalking is a term commonly used to refer to unwanted or obsessive attention by an individual or group toward another person. Unlike popular culture suggests, stalking is not an act of romance, it can often escalate to violence over time and should not be taken lightly.
Butte College defines stalking as: Engaging in a course of conduct directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to fear for his/her/their safety or the safety of others or suffer substantial emotional distress.
