REPORTING ABUSE
Butte College is committed to providing an academic and work environment free of unlawful
harassment. Harassment based on race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry,
physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital
status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, sexual orientation of
any person, military and veteran status, or the perception that a person has one or
more of these characteristics is illegal and violates District policy.
If you have been harassed or assulted you still have the choice of how you want to move foward.

If you are not yet sure if you want to report, but would like support to help you make that decision, please contact Safe Place to talk to a confidential advocate who can discuss your options. You have the power in moving foward.

You have the option to report the incident to the local police station where the crime occured. We are able to join you and guide you through the procees.
Was the perpetrator another Butte College student, faculty, staff member or volunteer?
You have the right to report this to the Title IX office and to Campus Police. You also have the right to a confidential victim advocate, provided by Safe Place, to aid you in the process.

If you or another campus community member are experiencing , or have experienced, discrimination or harassment, sexual assault, dating or domestic violence, or stalking, please contact our Title IX Office. The Title IX Coordinator will inform you of your rights and options and will provide appropriate supportive measures to help you to continue to thrive at Butte College.
