These plans are optional and may be purchased by contacting each company directly at the following e-mail addresses or phone numbers. The Student Health Clinic does not endorse specific insurance plans.

Most plans require that you are enrolled in at least 6 units and actively attending classes.

Tips for Buying Health Insurance

Read the entire brochure carefully. Pay special attention to:

• The list of exclusions (what is not covered under the plan).

• When the benefits begin and end.

• Who and where you can be treated. Some insurance policies have a specific "network" of health care providers to whom you can visit. If you go to someone out of the network, you may be responsible for paying a larger portion of the bill.

• What portion of any medical expenses you will be responsible for paying.

• The mandatory health fee students pay each quarter is NOT health insurance.
