Every Spring & Fall semester Classified, Faculty, & MSC come together to create a WELCOMING start for our students by volunteering at the Ask Me! Booths. This Spring, we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to welcome new and returning students, answer their questions, and help them navigate campus. Don’t feel like you have enough experience? No problem! We’ll provide all the resources you need to be ready!

Caring Campus strives to support exisiting Butte College activities which align with the High-5 Commitments and goals of Caring Campus. Here are a few activities organized by groups outside of Caring Campus which we encourage Classified Professionals to participate in:

Caring Campus Coaching Session One
Coach Jean Petty presented implementation plans with the Caring Campus team of volunteer Classified Professionals and began the foundational training for Caring Campus at Butte College.
 
 
April 4, 2023
Caring Campus Coaching Session Two
Coach Jean Petty and the Caring Campus team again met to consolidate work plans and determine the resources needed to implement and sustain Caring Campus at Butte College.
 
April 25, 2023
Joint Session
The Caring Campus team presented the work plans and requested resources to Butte College Leadership and MSC in order to implement Caring Campus at Butte College. 
 
May 9, 2023
Student Services MSC Presentation
Caring Campus was invited to present an update and training on the High-5 Behaviors for the Managers & Supervisors of Student Services who could not attend the Joint Session in April.

Classified Professionals Day Preview Presentation
The Caring Campus team presented a sneak peek of the High-5 Behaviors to Classified Professionals during this annual day of professional development and social gathering.
 
June 29, 2023
MSC Group Luncheon Presentation
Caring Campus leaders were invited to the annual MSC luncheon to give an update and present basic training on the High-5 Behaviors to MSC Group members who could not attend the Joint Session in April.
 
Sept 7, 2023
The Big Kickoff!
The Caring Campus team organized a 3-day event with tabling at Chico, Glenn, and Main Campus culminating in a 2-hour event featuring lunch, swag, socializing and three 30-minute training sessions on the background, benefits, and High-5 Behavior training of Caring Campus. All 3 training sessions were the same content so Classified Professionals from the same department could attend in "shifts" so our service to students would not be overly impacted. Over 90 Butte College employees attended and over 70 of those were Classified Professionals.

Chico Caring Campus FLEX Workshop
Caring Campus took a trip to Chico Center to host an active training workshop for staff, faculty, and MSC from Chico Center, Skyway Center, and Cosmetology. The focus of this workshop was on learning the High-5 Behaviors and how they support the college's "Students First" values.

Ask Me Booths - Spring Semester Start
Caring Campus has officially taken over the organizing & facilitation of Ask Me booths!! Our first ever Ask Me event focused on incorporating the High-5 Behaviors into the college's most important welcome event of the semester. Expanding on the High-5 concept, Caring Campus added a 3rd volunteer to each booth so there were people on-hand to offer Warm Hand-Offs to new students finding their way across campus!

Caring Campus Lip Dub Music Video
During Classified Professionals Week, Faculty, Staff, and MSC were invited to participate in the first ever Caring Campus Lib Dub video. Our producers remixed a popular song and changed the lyrics to help teach viewers the High-5 Behaviors. Check it out below!

Caring Campus SummerFest
Caring Campus kicked off a new, annual summer event: "SummerFest" where staff can participate in fun games & activities which teach and reinforce the High-5 Behaviors. By completing all of the 5 activities, staff could earn a Caring Campus hat, visor, or bucket hat!!

Caring Campus WinterFest
SummerFest was such a huge sucess Caring Campus created a spin-off event for Spring FLEX Week called, "WinterFest!" Much like it's inspiration, the entire campus was invited to participate in fun games & activities which teach and reinforce the High-5 Commitments in a slightly more "chill" get-together. By completing all of the 5 activities, staff could earn a Caring Campus beanie, scarf, or any back stock swag!!
