The Butte College Board of Trustees selected David Danielson, Dean of Language Arts, Mathematics, and Sciences, to fill the role of interim Vice President of Student Learning and Economic Development at a special board meeting June 22, 2015.
Danielson has worked as a dean or assistant dean at Butte College for the past ten years. Prior to becoming an administrator, from 1993-2005 he taught as a Butte College mathematics instructor. During three of those years he also served as the mathematics department's Developmental Coordinator.
Danielson earned a master of science degree in applied mathematics in 1993 from CSU, Hayward (now CSU of the East Bay). In 1987, he earned a single subject teaching credential in both mathematics and English from San Francisco State University. He received a bachelor's of arts degree in English and journalism in 1975 from Johnston College of the University of Redlands. He also serves as a trustee for his alma mater, the University of Redlands.
